Description

Furnish labor and materials to install a sprinkler system in Building 173, located at the USDA, Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, Beltsville, Maryland. The contractor shall provide a new automatic sprinkler system, hydraulically calculated and certified by a licensed fire protection engineer. Provide a new water service from an existing 16" water main at the front of Building 173. The system shall be monitored by the existing fire alarm panel. Project to be completed within 75 calendar days of notice to proceed. This requirement is a total Small Business set aside. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 238220 with a small business standard of not greater than 12 Million annually for the last 3 years. The Order of Magnitude of this construction project is between $100,000 and $250,000. This is an Invitation For Bid (IFB) using sealed bid procedures per Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 14, Sealed Bidding. The solicitation #03-3K47-05 will be released on December 28, 2004. The address for downloading the solicitation is http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Notifications of any changes/amendments will be made via the Internet. It is the contractor's responsibility to check the internet site for any posted changes to the solicitation. The bids are due on or before February 1, 2005 by 10:30 a.m. (EST). A public bid opening will be held. A bid bond is required. The Government recommends that contractors bidding on this project visit the site. Only one site visit will be conducted for both contractors and subcontractors (see solicitation for the date and time). A firm fixed price contract will be awarded on the basis of price and price related factors. The anticipated award is February 4, 2005. "See Note 1."
