Questions and Answers. Q- Will the contractor be responsible for running low voltage wire through walls of the HDI Federal Center, or shall GSA complete such wiring. A- Yes the contractor is responsible for running the wire for the complete project, however, in the SOW it states that, “All work shall be completed and performed in accordance with the best practices of the trade and in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local codes.” Essentially this means that any wiring ran must conform to the requirements GSA has established for the building. Further, I want to reiterate that the SOW claims the Government has reserved the right to inspect and verify that the work is in compliance with federal, state, and local these local codes. If for some reason you think these local codes/ requirements may potentially influence a response to this announcement, then I recommend obtaining these codes/ technical requirements on local cable and wiring code/ regulations from James Buehner, the Governments Technical Representative for this announcement.
