Description

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), on behalf of theProgram Executive Officer Space Systems (PEO SS) and the NavyCommunications Satellite Program Office (PMW 146), intends to award a solesource, firm-fixed-price contract, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 (Only OneResponsible Source), to Astrotech Space Operations located in Titusville,Floridafor payload processing of 5-meter class payloads, including hazardous and non-hazardous payload processing activities, in support of up to five (5) satellitelaunches for the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) Program. The AstrotechPayload Processing Facility (PPF) is capable of providing organic services tosupport flight preparation of the MUOS Spacecraft, is located within 30 milesofCape Canaveral Air Force Station, and is capable of supporting 24-hour-per-day, seven-day-per-week operations. Solicitation release is planned for 18February 2010 with contract award anticipated approximately June 2010. Thetotal period of performance is a base effort to support the initial launch withfour options to support each potential launch. Numbered notes 1 and 22 apply.
